Dogging in Cambridgeshire

From the Gog Magog Hills and Fen Drayton Lakes to Southey Wood, Grafham Water and the lanes of the Fens, the county's best-known dogging spots, with a map for each.

Cambridgeshire runs from Cambridge and the Gog Magog Hills in the south to Peterborough, Ely and the flat, empty Fens around March and Wisbech. Between them are nature reserves, lakes, the A1 lay-bys and a lot of very quiet roads, which makes it a better county for dogging than you might think.

We have put a map with every spot, plus a what3words address wherever you need to walk in. Plenty of them have dog walkers and families about in daylight, so the notes say when to go. Spots come and go over time, so use each one as a place to begin.

Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire

Just outside Cambridge the Gog Magog Hills have woods, a Roman road and a country park car park, with nature reserves, lay-bys and a station car park further out.
